Relationship between an individual and the corporation is usually defined only by rules of labor law. However, the modus operandi of Y soft building design is shaped by the idea of ​​building a deeper relationship between the company and the employee. This is not just about meeting the mandatory minimum.

Such an assignment allows us to apply a new approach to the task. The assignment by Y Soft is inspiring and opens much more space for creativity than typical speculative development focused mainly on universal solutions and business benefits without any interest in personal needs.

The work environment and life style in Y Soft company is getting closer to the ideal of “enjoying creativity”.

The work environment of the new Campus is to enrich the motives and conventions which are already being applied in the existing building of Y Soft. The aim is to achieve humane working environment.

Y Softer is required to have a high moral credit at the level of a scientist, and in relation to this, the boundaries of their workplace should be laid more freely, than it is the case in an average company. Apart from their working place, the employees meet with their colleagues during the day in various situations that are more or less formal.

In addition, as employees of a modern company, they should have facilities for leisure activities, both relaxing and developing body and spirit, as well as some freedom in dealing with their work schedule. Satisfaction of people who like to pursue their profession brings higher performance to the company.

That is why workshops are available 24 hours a day for working on prototypes or for creative self-realization and relaxation by physical activity.

Outdoor sports ground is situated in the lower part of the campus. The sports ground is a part of an open space with trees – orchard - which continues to open countryside towards the south. Everyone can deal with a conventional orchard.

The natural environment can evoke natural habits that are trivial at home but are an unattainable standard at work. Adults and children from the company kids group will be able to observe the change of the seasons, the time of day, the mood of the weather, they can climb a tree, pick cherries, watch the bees, use the camp fire rings, chop wood. If Y Soft could gain access to the surrounding agricultural lands, which are now property split into narrow strips, and are likely to remain separated for a longer period of time, we propose to leave these lands only grassed with composed cutout parts. This would create an ideal area for outdoor picnics, corporate sports days, a jogging trail, and many other simple and cheap outdoor activities, useful for the local community or college students from the nearby VUT campus.

The plot for the Y Soft Campus is a part of a big meadow (or a field) and it has 15 ha. The plot is sloped and has a beautiful view of Medlánky in the valley and a noticeable long and wavy forest ridge on the horizon. You can enter the plot from the road in the upper part.

Our design of cascade building reflects the terrain conditions and also allows to enjoy the view from all the parts of the building.

The design of Y Soft Campus allows the interconnection between interior and exterior spaces and maximum contact with the greenery. The aim is also not to separate the building and the city.

Our design process started with flattened forms with inner courtyards but finally we chose a zip shape. This shape helps us to intertwine the building with the surrounding greenery. And not just this – it also intertwines the solid and the void, work and relaxation. The shape allows the people from outside to see what is happening inside and the people from inside to observe the outside.

The building is divided into more volumes which are connected by a communication “spine”. This organization of volumes allows to create intervening gardens with green micro worlds surrounded by courtyards balconies.
